πŸ—£️ Talk Boosters – Day 35: “Online Learning vs. Classroom Learning: Which is Better?”

πŸ§‘‍🏫 Instructions for Students:

Speak for 3–5 minutes expressing your opinion.

Use helpful expressions like:
πŸ‘‰ I think..., In my opinion..., Some people believe..., I strongly feel..., It’s clear that...

Try to give real examples (online classes during COVID, classroom interactions, online platforms, school memories, etc.)

Focus on using simple present, present perfect, and future tense where needed.

πŸ—£️ Example Starter:

"I strongly feel that online learning is better than classroom learning for many students. It gives more flexibility and saves time. For instance, during the COVID lockdown, we attended online classes using phones or laptops. It helped us continue learning safely from home.

With online learning, we can choose the time and pace of study. We can replay recorded classes, attend from anywhere, and access many resources like videos and notes. Educational apps and websites have made learning more interesting and colourful.

On the other hand, some students find it difficult to focus at home. There may be internet issues or distractions. Also, we miss the social experience—talking with friends, doing group activities, and directly interacting with teachers.

Classroom learning has its own strengths. It gives structure, discipline, and human connection. But still, online learning is growing fast, and in future, more people might prefer it for its flexibility and accessibility.

So yes, both systems have their advantages. But I personally feel that online learning is more suitable in today’s digital world—especially when used with proper planning and self-discipline."

Hello everyone,

Today, I would like to talk about a topic that affects all of us—“Online Learning vs. Classroom Learning: Which is Better?”

Sample 1: In Favour of Online Learning

In my opinion, online learning is a better and more flexible method of education for today’s generation. The world is changing rapidly, and so is the way we learn. With the help of technology, learning is no longer limited to a classroom. You can learn anything from anywhere, anytime.

For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, students across the world including Kerala attended school through Zoom or Google Meet. Even in remote villages, many students continued their education with the help of mobile phones and online apps like BRISTU and BYJU’S. This showed that education can continue even during difficult times.

Online learning saves travel time and allows students to learn at their own pace. You can pause, replay, or review lessons whenever you want. This helps in better understanding. Also, there are many free courses and videos available on YouTube and other platforms to learn extra topics. Some students even attend classes from foreign universities sitting in Kerala.

It is also more cost-effective. You save money on transportation, uniforms, and hostel fees. Plus, online learning encourages students to take responsibility for their studies. It helps in building time management and self-discipline.

Of course, there are challenges too. Not all students have good internet or a quiet place to study. Some may feel isolated or miss the social interaction of school. But these can be managed. Online education is constantly improving, and hybrid models are now being used to solve these problems.

In conclusion, I strongly believe online learning is the future of education. It is flexible, affordable, and gives access to a wide range of knowledge. With proper guidance and self-motivation, students can achieve great success through online education.

Thank you.

Sample 2: In Favour of Classroom Learning

I believe classroom learning is better than online learning for most students, especially in school and college. In a classroom, students learn more than just subjects. They learn discipline, social skills, teamwork, and how to communicate face-to-face.

Let’s take an example from our own lives. When we go to school or college, we meet friends, share ideas, participate in cultural activities, and enjoy real-time interaction with teachers. A teacher can immediately understand if a student has doubts, and explain the concept better. This human connection is missing in online learning.

Also, in a classroom, students follow a fixed timetable. This builds a routine and helps them stay organised. They get to work in groups, learn to cooperate with others, and take part in sports, arts, and hands-on learning—things that are difficult to do in front of a screen.

In Kerala, many students faced difficulties during online learning—lack of internet, shared mobile phones, or poor concentration. Some students lost interest in studies. In a classroom, teachers can keep students engaged and active.

Moreover, classroom learning supports emotional and social development. It helps students to become confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals. It gives a sense of belonging and motivation that online learning often lacks.

In my view, while online learning is useful during emergencies or as an extra support, it cannot replace classroom learning completely. Schools and colleges provide a wholesome experience that prepares us not just for exams, but for life.

So yes, I strongly support classroom learning as the better choice, especially for young learners who need structure, attention, and interaction.

Thank you.
