Try to Narrate
Today was the happiest day of my life. But it was also the most embarrassing day of my life. It was my first day at the office after getting a new job. In the morning, after I reached the office, our operations manager introduced me to everyone and then asked me to say a few words. Most of the staff in the office didn’t know Malayalam.
So, they asked me to speak in English. When I was called to speak, I started sweating all over, and my knees were shaking. My mouth went completely dry. I just stood there frozen, unable to say anything for a while. Whenever I tried to say something, my voice cracked. Everyone laughed.
When the manager realized I didn’t know English, he stepped in and said I could just speak in Malayalam.
That was the most embarrassing day of my life. It was a day I felt ashamed of myself. Today, I decided that I must learn English. I won’t be at peace until I learn to speak English.
